Anggitha: A Fresh Script Font for Modern Branding

I was staring at a blank brand board one afternoon, the sun streaming through the studio window, when I decided it was time to test Anggitha. It had been sitting in my font library for a while, but something about its description—handmade calligraphy style, decorative characters, and a dancing baseline—caught my attention. I needed a script font that could bring warmth and character to a branding project without feeling too old-fashioned or overly ornate.

The client was a small boutique coffee shop called "The Cozy Bean," which wanted a fresh identity that felt inviting and modern. They weren’t looking for anything too formal, but they did want their brand to stand out on packaging, signage, and social media. That’s when I pulled up Anggitha and started playing with it.

First Impressions: Style and Personality

Anggitha is a new fresh modern script with a handmade calligraphy style. The characters have a natural flow, like they were drawn by hand rather than generated by a machine. The dancing baseline adds movement and energy, making each letter feel alive. It has a softness to it, yet it still carries enough structure to be legible even in larger sizes.

I tested it on a logo mockup first. The name “The Cozy Bean” looked elegant when paired with a simple sans serif font. The contrast between the two styles gave the logo a balanced feel—playful yet professional. I loved how Anggitha didn’t overpower the other elements but instead added a touch of personality.

Applying Anggitha Across Brand Materials

Once the logo was approved, I moved on to other brand materials. The café needed packaging for their signature drinks, so I used Anggitha on the front labels. It worked beautifully on rounded sticker-style labels, giving them a handcrafted, artisanal vibe. The same font also looked great on social media posts—especially Instagram stories where the dynamic baseline really stood out.

For printed marketing materials like flyers and posters, I paired Anggitha with a clean sans serif typeface. This combination helped maintain readability while keeping the overall design cohesive. On the café’s website, I used Anggitha as the headline font for the hero section. It immediately drew the eye and created a welcoming atmosphere.

Even on business cards, Anggitha shone. The handwritten feel of the font made the cards feel more personal, which aligned perfectly with the café’s brand promise of being a cozy, community-driven space.

Design Considerations and Practical Advice

While Anggitha is visually appealing, it’s important to consider its use cases. It works best as a display font or headline font rather than for large blocks of text. Its decorative nature makes it ideal for short-form content such as logos, taglines, and call-to-action buttons. For body copy, I recommend pairing it with a more readable sans serif or serif font.

One thing I noticed during testing was that Anggitha performs exceptionally well in both digital and print formats. The file formats included in the Script Amp package are high quality, and the font supports multiple languages, which is a big plus for any designer working on international projects.

I also took the time to explore the alternates and ligatures included with Anggitha. These subtle variations helped enhance the visual appeal of the text, especially when designing invitations or greeting cards. The font’s versatility made it easy to adapt to different design contexts, from editorial layouts to product packaging.

Font Pairing and Brand Consistency

When using Anggitha, I found that pairing it with a modern sans serif font like Montserrat or Helvetica Neue created a strong visual hierarchy. The contrast between the two fonts helped guide the viewer’s eye and emphasized key messages. For a more traditional look, pairing it with a serif font like Georgia or Caslon added elegance and sophistication.

Consistency is key in any brand system, and I made sure to use Anggitha consistently across all touchpoints. Whether it was on the café’s menu, their Instagram bio, or their loyalty card, the font helped reinforce their brand identity and make it instantly recognizable.

If you're considering using Anggitha for your next project, I recommend testing it thoroughly before committing to a full brand system. Try it on different backgrounds, sizes, and colors to see how it behaves. Also, check the licensing terms to ensure it meets your commercial needs, especially if you’re working with clients or creating merchandise.

In the end, Anggitha became an essential part of the café’s brand identity. It brought warmth, character, and a sense of craftsmanship that resonated with their target audience. And for me, as a designer, it was a reminder of how the right font can elevate a project from good to unforgettable.
